1.   Leather Furniture— Leather that is not stored in climate controlled storage can be damaged by drastic weather changes throughout the   season.  Leather is susceptible to moisture which will cause discoloring and mildew.
2.   Household Appliances/Electronics—  You might not realize that washers/dryers/dishwashers and refrigerators all need climate controlled storage to protect the electronic and mechanical parts from cracking and rust.  Also included in this category are televisions, computers, recording equipment and speakers.  The drastic change in temperatures and uncontrolled humidity can cause internal parts to rust and break ruining your expensive equipment.
3.   Musical Instruments–Musical instruments need to be stored in climate controlled storage due to their delicate nature and proneness to damage due to the drastic change in climate and temperature.  Instruments included in this category are brass, woodwind, acoustic guitars and percussion.
4.   Artwork–Even if your keeping artwork in file cabinets or diameter tubes, it is a good idea to store artwork and art supplies in climate controlled storage.  The best environment is about 50% humidity and a temperature between 70 and 75 degrees F.
5.   Clothing–The last thing you want is mold and mildew on your clothing in storage.  Using plastic storage bins over cardboard boxes prevents  moisture but climate control is your best option for keeping your clothing dry.
6.   Business Documents   You should use climate controlled storage weather or not your business records and paper documents are in filing boxes or cabinets.  Climate controlled storage is the only thing that protects your documents from humidity.  Humidity will cause your documents to fade, discolor, or dissolve with exposure to moisture.
7.   Special Collections  Everything from coins, stamps, comics and even wine collections need to be stored in climate controlled storage to prevent damage caused by temperature change and humidity.
